I've spent 25 years in sales, and the last 12 building my own book of business and keeping it mine. It's still active today. No W2 that can fire me without cause and walk off with my relationships behind a hefty NDA. I chose independent, on purpose, and I'm still choosing it.

I've sold in more than one industry. The fundamentals carried over every time, which is why I think they're worth writing down.
